A spokesperson from the Myaing People’s Defense Force has confirmed that military personnel were killed during drone attacks on army camps stationed at North Khanran Pyu village and Myittha Dam in Gangaw Township, Magway Region. On March 4 at 9:20 AM, People’s Defense Forces conducted a drone strike using Einar bombs on the Pyu Saw Htee camp in North Khayan village, Gangaw Township, resulting in casualties among soldiers and Pyu Saw Htee members.
Subsequently, from March 7 to 9, continuous drone attacks were carried out on the military camp positioned at Myittha Dam. These operations resulted in the deaths of six individuals, including a camp commander, one soldier, and four Pyu Saw Htee members, with many others sustaining severe injuries. On March 16, two soldiers from the Myittha Dam position defected to revolutionary forces, and were captured with an MA-11 rifle and some ammunition in their possession.
These operations were jointly conducted by the Myaing PDF, Gangaw Township Allied Forces, Gangaw Township PDF, and the Pauk/Myaing/Kamma drone units, with no casualties reported among the resistance forces. On March 17 afternoon, the military retaliated by conducting jet fighter airstrikes on villages near Myittha Dam, according to local residents. These attacks demonstrate the military’s weakening control in the region.
