
According to revolutionary news sources and military circles based in Thayetkone, the military has been conducting operations in Thayetkone Township, Bago Region, where Major San Shwe Myint, a member of the Thayetkone Township Administration Team, is leading the looting of civilian property including gold, silver, motorcycles, bicycles, and cars from villages, which are then being distributed among soldiers. Starting from August 12, the military has been conducting operations in Thayetkone Township, during which they have burned and destroyed villages including Darthweikyaw Village, Yonpintet Village, and Thayet-keingyo Village. Civilians from these villages have had to flee for their lives, abandoning their possessions.
The military has been using vehicles to transport looted items including motorcycles, cars, bicycles, precious gold and silver, and household items that civilians were forced to leave behind. Major San Shwe Myint has been distributing these looted items among the soldiers. According to local sources, high-value items are being kept by Major San Shwe Myint and senior officers, while lower-value items such as clothing and household goods are being distributed to lower-ranking soldiers. A local source from Thayetkone explained that thousands of civilians continue to be displaced due to the military operations.
On August 14, the military burned down Yonpintet Village, Boekone Village, and Kyetkyae Village. On August 12 and 13, they also destroyed Yonpintet Village, Darthweikyauk Village, and Thayet-keingyo Village by fire. According to military circles in Thayetkone, the territorial clearance operations will continue, and there are plans to increase military operations after the rainy season ends, as well as plans to form civilian militia groups in villages. Major San Shwe Myint, who is leading the military operations in Thayetkone Township, has been confirmed to be a military engineer from the military’s combat forces.
