
Revolutionary forces successfully attacked a military outpost located on the old Yangon-Mandalay highway in Bago Region’s Thaung Gyi District, resulting in five military casualties and the seizure of multiple weapons, according to resistance sources. The attack took place at 4:30 AM on March 9, targeting a military outpost near Kyauk Taing village, situated between Kywe Pwe and Nyaung Chaik Htauk towns along the Yangon-Mandalay highway.
The operation was carried out through a joint effort of the People’s Defense Force (PDF), Operation Area 2, Strategy 23, Battalion 3502, and the Oat Twin PDF combat unit. During the battle, while one resistance fighter was killed in action, five military personnel were eliminated, and various weapons were captured. The seized arsenal included two MA-1 rifles, two G3 rifles, two MA-11 rifles, twelve ammunition magazines, 200 rounds of G3 ammunition, and 200 rounds of 5.56mm ammunition.
Commander Tin Oo from PDF Operation Area 2 confirmed that this attack was part of the ongoing resistance operations to liberate areas under military control. He emphasized that the revolutionary forces would continue their fight to protect the security and rights of local civilians. The commander further stated that resistance forces remain committed to their mission of liberating the people from the oppression of the military regime and will continue their operations to the best of their capabilities.
