A Pyu Saw Htee member named Myo Min Thu, who had been collaborating with the terrorist military forces and forcing young people into porter service despite repeated warnings from People’s Defense Forces (PDF), was killed in an attack in Htone Bo Township, Bago Region. According to an official from Battalion 3802 Column 5 of Thayarwaddy District, the incident occurred around 7 AM on August 27 near Inpin Lal village. Myo Min Thu, who resided in Sint Ku village in Htone Bo Township, was shot during the operation, resulting in his immediate death. The resistance forces also seized his motorcycle during the operation.
The deceased Myo Min Thu was a trained Pyu Saw Htee member who regularly reported resistance force movements to the terrorist military. He was known for directly contacting military forces when civilians traveled to town, leading to their forced recruitment as porters. Despite being detained and warned by revolutionary forces in November 2024 to cease collaboration with the terrorist military, he continued his activities supporting the military council. This persistent collaboration with the military forces, despite multiple warnings, ultimately led to the targeted operation against him. The resistance forces had previously attempted to resolve the situation through warnings and negotiations, but his continued involvement in activities harmful to civilians necessitated direct action.
An official from Battalion 3802 Column 5 explained that they had no choice but to take decisive action against Myo Min Thu after multiple failed attempts to persuade him to stop his activities. The official emphasized that despite previous detention and warnings, Myo Min Thu had escalated his involvement in Pyu Saw Htee activities and continued forcing young people into porter service in collaboration with the military forces. The battalion also announced their commitment to continuing operations against the terrorist military and their affiliates who oppress civilians and revolutionary forces. They have issued warnings to civilians to avoid areas where military collaborators operate for their safety. This incident represents part of the ongoing resistance against military oppression and those who assist in implementing the military council’s oppressive policies against the civilian population.
