
On September 11, military forces conducting operations in Wetlet Township, Sagaing Region, tortured and killed a civilian with mental illness and burned down more than 50 houses in Taik Village, according to local information sources. The military column raided both Upper and Lower Taik villages, where they captured and brutally killed a mentally ill civilian resident who was living in the village.
The same military column had previously entered Upper Taik Village on September 10, where they burned down more than 50 civilian homes. Currently, thousands of residents from multiple villages in Wetlet Township including Sint Kaing North Village, Upper and Lower Taik Villages, Tamakan, Sheinmakar Village, Mingon Village, Ngataik Taung Village, Indaing Village, and Phowin Tay Village have been forced to flee to safety due to the military operations in the area.
Additionally, on the evening of September 9, the military conducted aerial bombardments using Y-12 aircraft on several villages in the eastern part of Wetlet Township, including Thitseit Village, Indaing Village, Yonpinkone Village, Mingon Village, Nabepinlha Village, and Taytha Village. These attacks resulted in the deaths of four civilians, including one child, and left 13 others injured, according to local residents. Currently, the military continues to conduct aerial bombardments on villages in Wetlet Township without any active ground fighting, prompting local information networks to warn residents to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions for their safety.
