
The terrorist military forces launched an attack on Nga Thayaw village in Yesagyo Township, Magway Region, starting from 6:30 AM on March 19, burning down houses and firing heavy weapons and small arms at civilians, forcing the entire village population to flee, according to a representative from the Yesagyo Township Information Committee. The military council troops systematically destroyed residential homes upon entering Nga Thayaw village and indiscriminately fired both heavy weapons and small arms at civilians attempting to escape.
Due to the brutal actions of the military council forces, thousands of people not only from Nga Thayaw village but also from surrounding villages have been forced to flee to safety. The military troops had burned down Bisapkone village the previous day before attacking Nga Thayaw village today. Currently, as people are scattered while fleeing, the extent of injuries and casualties cannot be confirmed. The military column responsible for these attacks has a documented history of continuously burning villages in Yesagyo Township and has previously arrested and killed 18 civilians.
During their destruction of villages, the military council soldiers maintain constant fire with small arms while local residents are forced to abandon their homes and properties to flee for their lives. The brutality of the military council has devastated the lives of local residents, creating an urgent need for humanitarian assistance.
