The incident occurred on September 9 at approximately 12:20 PM when revolutionary forces intercepted the military vessels near Mine Twei Pyu Saw Htee village as they were departing from the area. The engagement lasted approximately 20 minutes, during which both vessels sustained significant damage from the attack.
The clash resulted in at least 10 confirmed casualties among the military forces, with both vessels sustaining multiple hits before being forced to retreat. Several soldiers and Pyu Saw Htee members reportedly fell overboard during the attack, and the military was unable to recover their bodies. The operation was led by the Kyunsu Township People’s Defense Force, and all revolutionary forces successfully withdrew from the area without sustaining any casualties. The attack demonstrated the growing capabilities of resistance forces in the region and their ability to conduct successful operations against military targets.
Additionally, the People’s Defense Force official stated that revolutionary forces would continue to conduct clearing operations throughout Kyunsu Township, particularly in response to the military council’s attempts to organize illegitimate elections in the area. Local civilians remain vigilant regarding military movements in the region and continue to cooperate with revolutionary forces. The successful operation represents another blow to the military council’s attempts to maintain control over the area and highlights the ongoing resistance against their illegal rule.
