
A spokesperson from the Naga Ni Special Combat Force – Myaing has confirmed that resistance forces have successfully captured a military council project office along the Myaing-Pakokku road in Myaing Township, Magway Region. During the operation, 12 military council soldiers were taken prisoner and 13 weapons were seized. The attack began at 4:30 AM on July 9th, when combined resistance forces launched their offensive against the military council troops stationed at the project office. Despite the military council conducting two airstrikes in response, resistance forces managed to complete the capture of the facility by around 7 PM.
During the battle, military council casualties were reported, with 12 soldiers captured as prisoners of war, including one who sustained severe injuries and is currently receiving medical treatment. The resistance forces suffered one heroic casualty and six fighters were wounded. The captured military council personnel include Police Captain Thaung Htwe Soe, Police Sub-Lieutenant Htun Min Zaw, Police Corporal Zaw Win Naing, Police Lance Corporal Tin Myint Htun, Police Private Zaw Naing, Police Private Ye Htet Aung, Police Private Than Toe Aung, Police Lance Corporal Min Min Htun, Police Private Min Min Zaw, Police Lance Corporal Oak Ko Ko, Corporal U Htun, and Private Myo Naing Win.
The seized weapons and equipment from the military council forces include 10 G3 rifles, one MA3, one MA4, one Type-79, 15 G3 magazines, two MA magazines, 136 G3 rounds, 37 5.56mm rounds, nine hand grenades, six Type-79 projectiles, five helmets, three phones, seven pieces of equipment, and 2.2 million kyats in cash. A resistance force official confirmed that the captured military council soldiers are being detained in accordance with prisoner of war laws.
During the battle, reinforcements from the Myaing Town Police Station attempted to provide support three times – at 9:30 AM, 12:00 PM, and 3:15 PM – but resistance forces successfully intercepted and prevented these relief attempts. On July 10th at around 7 AM, during clearing operations at the project office in Myaing town, an exchange of fire occurred resulting in one resistance fighter sustaining non-life-threatening injuries. The operation involved coordination between multiple resistance groups including the Myaing United Force Alliance, Zamani Guerrilla Force, Good Brother Alliance, Anyar Hero Artillery Group, Joker Guerrilla Force, Kindo Drone Unit, Anyar Land Guerrilla Force, Burma Revolution Ranger, NFTA, and Scorpion People Defence Force.
