
The military council is now implementing a nationwide surveillance system using the National Database to identify and arrest military deserters, police deserters, civil disobedience movement participants, and political activists, according to military sources in Naypyidaw. This system is being used to collect personal information about civilians and track their whereabouts and movements.
In Nga Tharauk sub-township of Nyaung-U Township, Mandalay Region, an entire column of the military council forces was defeated by resistance forces. Following this, when another military council unit entered Nyaung-U Township, the combined resistance forces launched an interceptive attack, resulting in the death of five military council soldiers, as confirmed by the leader of the Bagan Bogyoke Kyaw group.
Despite consistently claiming to be the sole protector of Buddhism in Myanmar, the military council forces conducted an aerial bombing attack on a monastery in Magyipintet village, Thaung Tha Township, Mandalay Region, using armed helicopters. The attack resulted in the destruction of monastery buildings and structures. These actions clearly demonstrate the military council’s disrespect and brutality toward religious institutions, contradicting their claims of protecting Buddhism.
