
A drone strike by the military council forces has occurred in Kan Gyi village, Hanthawaddy group, Kyauk Htu Township area of Magway Region’s Saw Township. The incident took place on August 7 at approximately 11:45 AM when a drone from the military council’s Battalion 368, based in Kyauk Htu, dropped a bomb on the village. The attack resulted in one civilian sustaining neck injuries and the complete destruction of one house.
According to local sources, the attack was carried out deliberately by the military council forces despite there being no active fighting in the area. Although only one bomb was dropped, its high explosive power caused the complete destruction of a house and injured a civilian who was clearing weeds in their yard at the time. The bomb fragment struck the civilian, though the injuries were reported as non-life-threatening. No further aerial attacks followed the initial bombing.
The military council forces have been targeting civilian areas around Kyauk Htu and its surrounding regions, even in the absence of any active conflict. These attacks have caused significant concern among local residents, who are now living in constant fear for their safety. Local communities have been advised to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions for their security, particularly regarding the military council’s aerial attacks.
