According to Karen military sources, the former hospital building in Kyauk Kat village, a DKBA-controlled territory south of Myawaddy Township in Karen State, was destroyed after being targeted by military council drone strikes. The attacks occurred on September 4, with the first strike taking place around 8:30 AM near the village school’s former hospital building, followed by a second strike at approximately 8:50 AM. While the hospital building sustained significant damage from the drone attacks, no casualties were reported. Local military sources confirmed that the hospital had been relocated prior to the incident.
A local military source stated that the targeted area is under DKBA control, and the attacks were carried out deliberately despite there being no active fighting in the area. The source emphasized that this was an unprovoked attack on the facility. Meanwhile, intense fighting has been reported in the Noe Pho village and Htee Mu Hta village areas of Myawaddy Township, where military council troops who had returned from Thailand have been conducting operations. The military council employed air support during these operations, but their entire column suffered heavy casualties and was forced to retreat.
Military sources confirmed that the column from Infantry Battalion 275 retreated after sustaining significant losses, and it remains unclear when they might attempt another advance. The military council continues to conduct aerial reconnaissance and bombing missions, including drone strikes in the area. Additionally, ongoing clashes have been reported along the Kawkareik-Myawaddy Asia Highway and around Kyun Doe town, with revolutionary sources confirming daily exchanges of fire in these areas. The situation remains tense as the military council continues its offensive operations while facing strong resistance from local defense forces.
