Starting from 12:30 PM on March 1, the military council’s drone unit based at Kwali Yeikan Hill launched attacks using six bombs targeting the Pyinkataunkon village tract cemetery area and a stone mining area spanning over 100 acres in Kyaikto Township. These attacks have caused significant damage to civilian areas and infrastructure.
On the same day, the military council’s Artillery Unit 310 fired 10 heavy artillery rounds, while Infantry Battalion 207 under Infantry Division 44 Headquarters launched 8 artillery shells, resulting in multiple explosions throughout Kyaikto Township. The attacks caused damage to one house in Pyinkataunkon village, cemetery structures, and agricultural crops. The military assault also affected civilian farmlands in the western parts of Sitpin village, Mukharmot village, and Thonegwa village within the Khare village tract area of Kyaikto Township.
From March 4 to March 6, the military council continued its offensive with both airstrikes and extensive artillery bombardment. These sustained attacks caused severe distress among local residents and resulted in extensive damage to their livelihood activities, particularly affecting agricultural lands and crops. Local sources reported that civilians experienced significant fear and anxiety during these attacks, while their farming operations and crops suffered substantial losses. The continuous military actions have severely impacted the civilian population’s ability to maintain their agricultural activities, which serve as their primary source of income and sustenance.
