The attacks began on March 1 at approximately 12:30 PM, when military drone units based at Kwali Yeikan Hill targeted the Pyinkataunkon village cemetery area and a stone mining area of over 100 acres in the Pyinkataunkon village tract of Kyaikto Township. The military forces dropped six bombs during this attack.
On the same day, the military council’s Artillery Unit 310 fired 10 heavy artillery rounds, while Infantry Battalion 207, under Infantry Division 44 Headquarters, launched 8 artillery shells, resulting in multiple explosions throughout Kyaikto Township. The attacks caused damage to one house in Pyinkataunkon village, cemetery tombs, and cultivated crops. Additionally, farmlands on the western side of Satkwin village, Mukharmot village, and Thonekwa village in the Khare village tract of Kyaikto Township suffered significant damage.
From March 4 to March 6, the military council forces continued their offensive with both airstrikes and extensive artillery bombardment. These sustained attacks caused severe distress among local residents and resulted in extensive damage to their agricultural fields and livestock farms. Local sources reported that civilians were terrified by the continuous attacks, and their farming operations and agricultural lands suffered massive destruction. The military’s aggressive campaign has severely impacted the livelihoods of local residents, destroying crops, farming infrastructure, and causing significant economic hardship for the affected communities.
