The Danu People’s Liberation Army (DPLA) reported on May 21 that the terrorist military council forces conducted attacks using chemical bombs and heavy weapons in the Kyauk Gu region of Hsipaw Township, Southern Shan State. The attacks occurred on May 20, beginning with four chemical bombs dropped between 12:00 noon and 1:00 PM. Another attack followed at 3:21 PM, with chemical gas bombs being dropped between Lway Hawng village and Phak Yin Kon village in the Kyauk Gu township area where DPLA forces were operating.
The military council forces not only used chemical weapons but also fired two artillery shells at 3:28 PM. Following these aerial attacks, ground offensive operations continued in the area. The DPLA revealed that the military council has been repeatedly committing war crimes by using chemical weapons that are prohibited under international law. These violations have become increasingly frequent in their military operations.
Additionally, the military council has been conducting airstrikes targeting civilian populations in territories controlled by the Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA). Due to these deliberate attacks on civilians, local residents must exercise extreme caution to avoid aerial attacks. The DPLA has urged civilians to remain vigilant, continuously monitor daily military situations, and maintain heightened awareness in their daily lives to ensure their safety from these ongoing military threats.
