
According to local sources, the brutal actions of the military council troops conducting operations in Yesagyo Township, Magway Region, have resulted in the deaths of 18 innocent civilians and the destruction of nearly 400 homes by arson. The military council forces began their raid on Myaysunhtaw village in the river island area on March 2 at 6:30 AM, with approximately 200 troops from Pakokku Division 101 and Yesagyo Township-based battalions 256, 257, and 258 initiating the burning of houses within the village.
The military council forces continued their destruction until March 4 in Myaysunhtaw village, burning over 270 houses. On March 5, they proceeded to enter Zarapni village, where they burned 68 houses. They then moved on to Thagaung Lei village, burning over 20 houses, bringing the total number of destroyed homes to more than 358.
Additionally, the military council forces brutally killed 18 civilians from Myaysunhtaw village, including elderly residents. Among those killed were U Han Tin (over 70 years old), U Htay Myint (60 years old), U Thanmani (88 years old), Daw Than Pyay (60 years old), Daw Hla Ngwe (86 years old), U Kyaw Htay (67 years old), U Aung Myint (69 years old), Ko Thant Zin (35 years old), and Ko Aung Linn Naing (40 years old).
Currently, the military council forces are returning to the villages they previously burned and are systematically looting civilian property, transporting items daily via trucks to Mintha and Pyusawthi villages. Local sources confirm that the military council forces have also raided Bisapkone village and continue to steal civilian property. The ongoing military operations in the area have created a atmosphere of terror and devastation among the local population, with troops moving between their bases and the affected villages on a regular basis.
