
According to local sources, military council forces conducting operations in Yesagyo Township, Magway Region, have burned down nearly 400 homes and killed 18 civilians during raids on three villages. The incident began on March 2 at 6:30 AM when approximately 200 soldiers from Pakokku Division 101 and Yesagyo-based battalions 256, 257, and 258 entered Myaysunhtaw village in the river island area of Yesagyo Township.
The military forces remained stationed in Myaysunhtaw village until March 4, during which they burned down more than 270 civilian homes. On the morning of March 5, they proceeded to enter Zarapni village where they destroyed 68 houses by fire. Later that evening, they moved on to Thagaunglay village and burned down over 20 more houses. In total, more than 358 homes across the three villages were destroyed by fire.
Additionally, the military council forces brutally killed 18 civilians from Myaysunhtaw village, including elderly residents. Among those killed were U Han Tin (over 70 years old), U Htay Myint (60 years old), U Than Mani (88 years old), Daw Than Pyay (60 years old), Daw Hla Ngwe (86 years old), U Kyaw Htay (67 years old), U Aung Myint (69 years old), Ko Thant Zin (35 years old), and Ko Aung Linn Naing (40 years old).
Currently, military council forces are returning to the villages they previously burned and are systematically looting civilian property, transporting items daily via trucks to Myin village and Pyusawthi village. Local residents confirm that the military continues to raid villages throughout the Yesagyo area while maintaining regular movement between their bases in Myin village.
