
According to local sources, the military council’s brutal operations in Yesagyo Township, Magway Region, have resulted in the deaths of 18 innocent civilians and the destruction of nearly 400 homes. On March 2nd at 6:30 AM, approximately 200 soldiers from Pakokku Division 101 and Yesagyo-based battalions 256, 257, and 258 entered Myaysunhtaw village in the river island area and began burning down residents’ homes.
The military council forces continued their destruction in Myaysunhtaw village until March 4th, burning down more than 270 houses. On March 5th, they proceeded to enter Zarapni village, where they destroyed 68 houses. Later that day, they moved to Thagaung Lei village and burned down over 20 more houses. The military council’s destructive actions resulted in the complete destruction of more than 358 homes across these three villages.
Additionally, the military council forces brutally killed 18 civilians, including elderly residents from Myaysunhtaw village. Among the victims were U Han Tin (over 70 years old), U Htay Myint (60 years old), U Than Mani (88 years old), Daw Than Pyay (60 years old), Daw Hla Ngwe (86 years old), U Kyaw Htay (67 years old), U Aung Myint (69 years old), Ko Thant Zin (35 years old), and Ko Aung Linn Naing (40 years old).
Currently, the military council forces are returning to the villages they previously destroyed and are systematically looting remaining civilian property, transporting items daily via trucks to Myin village and Pyusawthi village. They have also raided Bisapkone village and continue to carry out looting operations. According to an official from the Yesagyo Township Info Committee, the military forces continue to conduct raids throughout the Yesagyo area, maintaining regular movement between these locations and Myin village.
