The MBPDF Falcon Unit-Support Group has reported that two civilians were injured and houses were damaged when the military council forces launched unprovoked artillery attacks on villages near Mobye town, located at the border of Shan State and Karenni State. The incident occurred around 2 PM on June 14, when the military council forces fired seven artillery shells at villages west of Mobye town without any ongoing conflict in the area.
The artillery attacks resulted in injuries to two innocent civilians and caused significant damage to residential buildings in the villages. The MBPDF Falcon Unit-Support Group has warned local residents to only enter the village areas when absolutely necessary, as the military council forces continue to deliberately target civilian lives and properties with heavy weapons.
These artillery attacks by the military council forces have severely disrupted the daily lives of local residents and caused widespread fear and anxiety in the community. Local residents report that the military council is committing war crimes by deliberately targeting civilian areas with artillery fire even in the absence of any active conflict. The military’s actions continue to demonstrate a pattern of intentional violence against civilian populations, causing destruction of homes and forcing people to live in constant fear for their safety.
