
The Karen National Union (KNU) Central has reported that two civilians were injured and houses were damaged when the terrorist military attacked villages in Kyaukkyi Township, Bago Region, with heavy weapons. On March 17, the terrorist military council troops fired two 120mm artillery shells from Nathankin Camp in Kyaukkyi Township, which landed and exploded in Pho Ta village and Chaung Wa village. The attack injured 61-year-old Daw Hla Hla Htwe and 32-year-old Ma Soe Soe Ma, and destroyed four civilian homes.
Villages in Kyaikto Township, Mon State, were also attacked by the terrorist military using heavy weapons and drones. On March 15 at approximately 10:45 AM, troops based at Battalion 122 launched a suicide drone attack from Kwali Reservoir Hill, which exploded between Meyongyi village and Kadaingdut village in the Win Kalaw village tract area of Kyaukmae Haung, causing forest fires. Additionally, on March 16 at 1:07 PM, the terrorist military’s Artillery Battalion 310 fired an artillery shell at civilian workplaces near Sinwin village.
In Kalay Township, Sagaing Region, the terrorist military also conducted airstrikes on Sawbwar Yayshin village, according to local residents. On March 20 at around 11:30 PM, military council troops carried out aerial bombardments, and investigations are ongoing regarding civilian casualties. These attacks by the terrorist military using heavy weapons have resulted in loss of civilian lives and property, causing widespread fear and concern among local residents.
