
Over twenty houses were burned down in Seinpankone village, Seikphyu Township, Magway Region, after the military forces conducted a raid and deliberately set fire to civilian homes, according to local residents. On July 10, the military troops entered Seinpankone village and systematically burned down residential buildings. The affected villagers are currently facing severe shortages of basic necessities, including food supplies.
Military council soldiers methodically destroyed homes through arson after entering the village and also looted villagers’ possessions. After completing their destructive operations, the military forces withdrew from the village, as reported by a local resident. Similarly, in Kyaw Zayar village of Sagaing Township, Sagaing Region, eight houses were destroyed when the military forces launched heavy artillery attacks on the village, confirmed by the Sagaing Township Fire Safety Team.
On June 22, the military council forces fired heavy weapons at Kyaw Zayar village without any ongoing battles in the area. While the Sagaing Township Fire Safety Team was attempting to extinguish the burning houses with fire trucks, the military forces continued their artillery attacks. In this dangerous situation, firefighters had to simultaneously evacuate villagers to safe locations while continuing their firefighting operations. The incident demonstrates the military’s deliberate targeting of civilian infrastructure and their interference with emergency response efforts.
