A military council convoy transporting ammunition for Infantry Battalions 256, 257, and 258 in Yesagyo Township, Magway Region, was attacked by resistance forces using mines. The attack, which occurred on July 7, resulted in the destruction of one vehicle and injuries among military council troops, according to confirmation from the People’s Defense Force.
The incident began in the morning of July 7 when over twenty military vessels were spotted moving upstream along the Chindwin River, carrying ammunition intended for three battalions in Yesagyo Township. The military council forces stopped at Nyein Zar Nay port, where they forcibly commandeered ten civilian vehicles to transport the ammunition. The vehicle owners were detained at the port while military council soldiers drove the vehicles themselves.
Around 6 PM, resistance forces launched a mine attack on the ammunition transport convoy near the outskirts of Yesagyo town. Each vehicle was carrying between 10 to 15 military council soldiers. The attack resulted in the complete destruction of one vehicle and injuries to several military council troops, while the resistance forces were able to withdraw successfully without any casualties, according to the statement released by the People’s Defense Force.
