
The military council forces conducted two separate airstrikes on Hlaynamaw village in Wetlet Township, Sagaing Region, on July 11. At around 9 AM, a J-Fighter jet from Tataoo Air Base attacked the village with six 100-pound bombs and machine gun fire. Later, at approximately 1 PM, an Mi-35 helicopter gunship launched another attack on the village.
During the first airstrike, a villager in his 50s was killed instantly, and another injured villager later succumbed to their wounds. Additionally, seven villagers were wounded in the attack, including Ko Pyae Phyo Khant (age 14), Thwun Su Khaing Htet (age 7), Kyaw Zin Lin, Htet Oo Yan (age 9), U Than Oo (age 35), U Kyaw Maung Swe (age 41), Ko Nay Htet Lin (age 33), and Ma Tun Tun (age 22).
Following the second airstrike, all villagers were forced to flee to safety, with the entire village being evacuated, according to a representative from the Wetlet Information Network. Local residents pointed out that the military council forces are deliberately targeting civilians, and conducting airstrikes on civilian areas constitutes a war crime.
