The military council conducted aerial bombardments using Y-12 aircraft over 18 villages in Pauk Township, Magway Region, in a two-day assault. The attacks began around 11 AM on August 11, targeting villages in the eastern part of Pauk Township including Yaypa, Shakwale, Montaw, Kanpyo, Thanapinzin, Tingutpyin, Nyaungpintaik, Shwehlan, Myinchankone, Kyunpinsu, Sinthi, Ngamyegyi, Ngamyele, Kanthawkone, Pyinchaung, and Saywa villages, according to a representative from the Central Burma Alliance Forces.
The aerial attacks resulted in the death of 5 civilians, including children, and left more than 30 people injured. On August 12, the military council continued its offensive, firing howitzer artillery from Military Operations Command 24 in Pauk Township. They also conducted additional airstrikes using Y-12 aircraft, dropping three bombs on Shakwale village and five bombs on Kanpyo village, as confirmed by the Central Burma Alliance Forces.
Due to the military council’s aerial bombardments and artillery attacks, local residents have been forced to flee to safer locations, abandoning their homes and possessions. The military council continues to commit war crimes against civilians, deliberately targeting residential areas, according to alliance force officials. The ongoing attacks have caused widespread displacement and destruction in the region, with civilians bearing the brunt of the military’s aggressive campaign against its own people.
