In a separate incident, the military council also conducted airstrikes on Kalabya village in Thaungtha Township, Mandalay Region. At approximately 2:43 AM on April 27, three military helicopters from the Meiktila direction launched an attack near the Phayarlaycin forest temple south of Kalabya village, dropping eight bombs. While no civilian casualties were reported in this attack, local residents expressed concern about unexploded ordnance remaining in the area, posing ongoing risks to the civilian population.
The military council has been conducting frequent airstrikes against civilian populations, resulting in continuous casualties among innocent civilians. They deliberately target areas where there is no active conflict, including civilian residences, schools, hospitals, and religious buildings. These aerial attacks have caused widespread fear among local residents, forcing many to flee their homes and seek refuge in safer locations. The pattern of indiscriminate attacks on civilian areas has become a characteristic strategy of the military council’s operations, leading to significant displacement and humanitarian concerns in the affected regions.
