
The military council forces conducted renewed airstrikes on villages located between Thone Pa Pin and Kyauk Gyi townships in Bago Region. The attacks, which began on the morning of March 8 and continued until evening, targeted Kyauk Gyi Pauk village and surrounding areas with continuous aerial bombardment, according to local residents. These airstrikes resulted in the destruction of a monastery and civilian homes in the area.
During the attacks, local civilians were forced to flee into forests and safer locations for their survival. The exact number of civilian casualties remains unconfirmed at present. According to a local resident, the military aircraft conducted continuous bombing raids starting from the morning hours. The ongoing airstrikes have severely disrupted daily life in the area, with residents unable to work and facing significant challenges in meeting their basic needs.
Prior to this incident, on March 6, another airstrike by the military forces had already claimed the lives of three civilians: Daw Htwe, age 63, from Kyauk Gyi Pauk village, and U Aung Myint Aye, age 55, and Daw Khin Oo, age 53, from Myaungzar village. Additionally, three other civilians were injured in that attack. The consecutive airstrikes have created an atmosphere of fear and uncertainty among local residents, who are now struggling with their daily survival as they cannot access their workplaces or maintain their normal livelihood activities.
