
The military council forces conducted renewed airstrikes on villages along the border of Thone Pa Pin and Kyauk Gyi townships in Bago Region. The attacks, which began on the morning of March 8 and continued until evening, targeted Kyauk Gyi Pauk village and surrounding areas with continuous aerial bombardment, according to local residents. These airstrikes resulted in the destruction of a monastery and civilian homes in the area.
During the attacks, local civilians were forced to flee into forests and safer locations for their survival, making it impossible to confirm the exact extent of damage and casualties at present. According to a local resident, the aircraft conducted continuous bombing raids starting from the morning hours. The ongoing airstrikes have created an atmosphere of fear and concern among local residents who worry daily about their safety.
Prior to this attack, on March 6, another airstrike by the military council forces had resulted in the deaths of three civilians: Daw Htwe, age 63, from Kyauk Gyi Pauk village, U Aung Myint Aye, age 55, and Daw Khin Oo, age 53, from Myaung Taw village. Additionally, three other civilians were injured in that attack. The consecutive airstrikes have caused significant distress among the local population, who continue to face serious security concerns in their daily lives.
