The military council forces conducted renewed airstrikes on villages along the border of Thanatpin and Kyaukkyi townships in Bago Region. The attacks, which began on the morning of March 8 and continued until evening, targeted Kyaukkyi Pauk village and surrounding areas, according to local residents. These aerial bombardments resulted in the destruction of a monastery and civilian homes in the area.
The exact extent of civilian casualties from these attacks remains unconfirmed. Currently, local residents have been forced to flee to safer locations due to concerns for their safety. According to a local resident, the airstrikes were continuous throughout the day, starting from morning until evening. The attacks specifically targeted Kyaukkyi Pauk village and nearby communities.
Additionally, on March 6, previous airstrikes by the military council forces resulted in the deaths of three civilians: Daw Htwe, age 63, from Kyaukkyi Pauk village, and U Aung Myint Aye, age 55, and Daw Khin Oo, age 53, from Myaungtaw village.
