
The military council forces conducted renewed airstrikes on villages along the border of Thone Ta Pin and Kyauk Gyi townships in Bago Region. The attacks, which began on the morning of March 8 and continued until evening, targeted Kyauk Gyi Pauk village and surrounding areas with continuous aerial bombardment, according to local residents. The airstrikes resulted in the destruction of a monastery and civilian homes in the area.
Local civilians have been forced to flee to safety due to fears for their lives from the attacks. The exact number of civilian casualties currently remains unconfirmed. According to a local resident, military aircraft conducted continuous bombing raids throughout the day, targeting Kyauk Gyi Pauk village and nearby communities. The ongoing airstrikes have created an atmosphere of fear and instability in the region, with residents seeking shelter in safer locations.
Additionally, on March 6, previous military council airstrikes had resulted in the deaths of three civilians: Daw Htwe, age 63, from Kyauk Gyi Pauk village, and U Aung Myint Aye, age 55, and Daw Khin Oo, age 53, from Myaung Taw village. Three other civilians were also injured in these attacks. The consecutive aerial assaults have created significant security concerns among the local population, leading to widespread displacement and disruption of civilian life in the affected areas.
