
The Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA) has reported that the military council conducted airstrikes on Lon Kan village in Naung Cho Township, Shan State. On May 1st, around 6:45 PM, the military council’s jet fighters dropped two bombs on Lon Kan village in Naung Cho Township. Additionally, the military forces launched drone attacks and fired howitzer artillery at TNLA positions near Military Base 354 in Taung Khan village. The military council has been intensifying its offensive operations in the region using various weapons systems.
On April 30th, around 8:30 PM, the military council’s air force also conducted airstrikes between Thitseikone and Kyaukpot villages west of Mogok, dropping two 250-pound bombs. Throughout April, the military council carried out numerous attacks in Naung Cho Township, using 26 heavy artillery rounds, 37 chemical bombs, and 32 airstrikes. The military council has been systematically targeting areas under the control of the Palaung State Liberation Front/TNLA, conducting troop reinforcements, launching offensives, and carrying out airstrikes against civilian areas even where there is no active fighting.
In Mon State’s Kyaikto Township, two civilians were injured due to artillery attacks by the military council, according to a statement from the Karen National Union (KNU). On April 24th, Artillery Battalion 310 of the military council fired approximately 9 artillery shells into Kha Wei village and Kyauk Pon Gyi village areas without any ongoing battles, resulting in injuries to Ko Chaut Gyi and Daw Moe, residents of the Mon section of Kha Wei village. The military council’s actions continue to pose significant risks to civilian populations across multiple regions, with deliberate targeting of non-military areas and civilian infrastructure.
