The Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA) has officially announced that the military council forces conducted aerial bombardments in the western part of Mogok city in Mandalay Region. On April 30, around 8:30 PM, despite the absence of any active fighting, the military council deliberately targeted the area between Thitseinkone and Kyaukput villages with two 250-pound bombs. This attack occurred in a civilian area where there was no military engagement taking place.
Additionally, on April 24, the military council forces launched another attack on Naung Cho Township, deploying 11 chemical-laden bombs and 26 rounds of 120mm artillery shells from the air. The military council has been expanding its military presence in the territories controlled by the Palaung State Liberation Front/TNLA, conducting offensive operations, and carrying out airstrikes even in areas where there is no active conflict, deliberately targeting civilian populations. The military council’s actions demonstrate a pattern of intentional attacks against civilian areas under PSLF/TNLA administration.
Due to these circumstances, the TNLA has issued warnings to local residents to maintain military vigilance and follow necessary air defense measures to protect themselves from the military council’s aerial attacks. Meanwhile, in Sagaing Region’s Sagaing Township, two nine-year-old children were killed when military council forces shelled Ywa Thaya village with heavy artillery, according to confirmation from the Wetlet Information Network. The tragic incident occurred when artillery shells fired by military council troops stationed in Sayar village struck the residential area.
On May 1, at approximately 9:00 AM, military council soldiers based in Sayar village fired 81mm artillery shells that landed and exploded in Ywa Thaya village, resulting in the deaths of the innocent children. Furthermore, a military council jet fighter approaching from Tataoo conducted additional airstrikes on the northern parts of Sagaing Township at around 11:55 AM. Simultaneously, military council troops stationed in Myingyan city, Mandalay Region, have been continuously firing heavy artillery towards the western areas of the city. These ongoing attacks demonstrate the military council’s persistent use of disproportionate force against civilian areas, resulting in casualties among the local population, including children.
