
Near Kwin Gyi village in Thee Chaing Township, Sagaing Region, the military council’s forces conducted an airstrike using 500-pound bombs, resulting in one buffalo being thrown and killed after getting caught in a tree, while two other buffaloes were also killed, according to local residents. The airstrike occurred on March 8 at 5 PM, with the military council conducting the bombing despite there being no active fighting in the area. While the bombs fell outside the village area, preventing human casualties, the explosions created large craters in the ground.
A bomb that fell near the intersection by the Kokko tree at the entrance of Kwin Gyi village caused a fuel shop to catch fire and killed three buffaloes. Another bomb landed in the farmland near an agricultural center between Kwin Gyi village and Pauk Kone village, as reported by a local resident. The bombing created large craters in the targeted areas, but fortunately, none of the bombs fell within the village itself. The military council’s unprovoked aerial attacks have become a frequent occurrence in civilian areas, resulting in the destruction of lives and property of local residents.

The military council frequently uses airstrikes to target civilian areas, causing destruction of local people’s lives and properties. Due to these attacks by the military council’s forces, local residents live in constant fear and have been forced to abandon their homes and seek refuge elsewhere. The situation has created a humanitarian crisis as civilians continue to face the threat of indiscriminate aerial bombardment, leading to widespread displacement and instability in the region.
