
A civilian home was damaged when the military council conducted an airstrike on Shaukpinchan village in the eastern part of Kaulin Township, Sagaing Region. The aerial attack occurred at 1:05 AM on May 7, when the military council’s fighter jet dropped two bombs on the village. According to local sources, there were no military activities in the area, indicating that the attack deliberately targeted civilian populations.
The airstrike caused significant damage to the house belonging to U Maung Wai, a resident of Shaukpinchan village, and destroyed several electric poles in the village. Fortunately, civilians were able to evacuate in time, and no casualties were reported. Local residents point out that such deliberate attacks on civilian areas constitute violations of international humanitarian law and amount to war crimes. The incident highlights the military council’s ongoing campaign of violence against civilian populations, demonstrating their disregard for civilian safety and international humanitarian principles.
