The military council has been conducting continuous airstrikes on areas controlled by revolutionary forces in Patheingyi and Madaya Townships of Mandalay Region since the afternoon of July 25, according to local sources and aerial surveillance observers. The attacks included five jet fighter strikes and five helicopter gunship attacks on Myakantha village in Patheingyi Township. The military council’s air operations began at 1:15 PM and continued until 5:43 PM, with additional helicopter gunship attacks on Myakantha village between 4:18 PM and 4:27 PM.
In Madaya Township, a jet fighter from the Meiktila Shan Tae Air Base conducted two separate airstrikes at approximately 5:43 PM and 5:45 PM. These aerial attacks appear to be in retaliation for the successful capture of military council outposts by the People’s Defense Force (Mandalay) and allied forces on July 20. The captured positions included military installations in Thanyeegon village in Madaya Township, and Thayetkaing and Myakantha villages in Patheingyi Township.
Local residents have been taking precautionary measures by evacuating to safer areas in anticipation of these airstrikes, which has helped minimize potential casualties. However, detailed ground situation assessments are still ongoing. The military council has been intensifying its air campaign in response to territorial losses to revolutionary forces, demonstrating a pattern of retaliatory attacks against areas where they have lost control. Local aerial surveillance teams continue to monitor the situation and gather information about the impact of these airstrikes on the affected areas.
