According to civil society organizations in the Anyar region, the military council conducted air strikes on Nat Thaw village, located at the border of Myaing and Pauk townships in Magway Region. On March 26, without any ongoing battles in the area, the military council launched two separate air strikes using fighter jets at approximately 11:35 AM and 11:42 AM. Reports indicate that no civilians were injured during these latest attacks.
A representative from a local civil society organization in the Anyar region suggested that these attacks might have been conducted as a follow-up to the previous air strikes on March 24, which did not result in any fatalities. However, the earlier attack on March 24 had resulted in injuries to two civilians. Local residents report that the military council deliberately targets civilian areas even in the absence of any active conflict, demonstrating a pattern of intentional attacks against civilian populations.
The ongoing air strikes by the military council have created an atmosphere of fear and anxiety among local residents, who face daily security concerns. There is particular concern for the safety of children, elderly residents, and women. The air strikes have severely disrupted educational activities, healthcare services, and economic activities in the villages. Human rights organizations have declared these attacks on civilians as war crimes committed by the military council. The continuous targeting of civilian areas without military necessity has led to significant humanitarian concerns and disruption of normal civilian life in the region.
