The terrorist military council conducted an aerial attack in the vicinity of Kachin Kone village in the eastern part of Kawlin Township, Sagaing Region, as confirmed by local sources. The air strike occurred around 3:40 AM on April 11, deliberately targeting the area while civilians were asleep. Local residents reported that despite there being no active fighting in the area, the military council intentionally targeted civilian populations.
According to an official statement from the Kawlin Township People’s Administration Body, the military council’s aircraft dropped two bombs during the attack. One bomb exploded in a paddy field near the village, while the other remained unexploded. The incident took place near Saychaung Village New (also known as Kachin Kone) along the Shwebo-Myitkyina road, resulting in minimal damage to the surrounding area. The unexploded ordnance was later safely removed by Battalion 1 of the Kawlin Township People’s Defense Force.
Local residents pointed out that such aerial attacks by the military council constitute violations of international humanitarian law and amount to war crimes against civilian populations. The military council has been systematically perpetrating acts of violence against the public, particularly targeting innocent civilians in ethnic areas through both aerial bombardments and ground attacks. This incident represents another example of the military council’s ongoing campaign of violence against its own people, demonstrating their disregard for civilian safety and international humanitarian principles.
