
The military council forces conducted renewed aerial attacks on villages located along the border of Thanatpin and Kyaukkyi townships in Bago Region. According to local residents, the attacks began on the morning of March 8 and continued until evening, targeting Kyaukkyi Pauk village and surrounding areas with continuous airstrikes. These aerial assaults resulted in the destruction of a monastery and civilian homes in the area.
Due to the attacks, villagers were forced to flee to safer locations fearing for their lives. The exact extent of civilian casualties remains unconfirmed at present. According to a local resident, military aircraft conducted continuous bombing raids throughout the day, specifically targeting Kyaukkyi Pauk village and nearby communities. The ongoing attacks have severely disrupted daily life in the area, with residents living in constant fear and uncertainty.
Prior to these recent attacks, on March 6, military airstrikes had already claimed the lives of three civilians: Daw Htwe, age 63, from Kyaukkyi Pauk village, and U Aung Myint Aye, age 55, and Daw Khin Oo, age 53, from Myaungtaw village. Additionally, three other civilians sustained injuries in those attacks. The consecutive aerial bombardments have caused significant damage to civilian infrastructure and created an atmosphere of terror among the local population, who continue to endure these military assaults on their communities.
