The terrorist military council conducted an aerial bombardment on the Town Baptist Church in Mindat, Chin State, resulting in severe damage to the church building. According to local sources, the attack occurred on April 13 at approximately 4:05 PM. While the church structure suffered extensive damage from the military’s aerial assault, fortunately, no civilian casualties were reported in this incident. The attack has left the historic church building in ruins, marking another instance of the military council’s targeting of religious structures in conflict areas.
In a separate incident on the same day, the military council also carried out an aerial attack near Bogyigon village in Myingyan Township, Mandalay Region. Local sources confirmed that at approximately 12:32 PM, a military jet fighter dropped a 500-pound bomb near the village. The attack was conducted using a single fighter jet, and according to local witnesses, while the bombing caused significant concern among residents, there were no reported civilian casualties. This incident represents another example of the military council’s continued use of airstrikes against civilian areas.
These attacks are part of a broader pattern of military council operations targeting areas resistant to their rule, with Chin State and Mandalay Region experiencing frequent aerial bombardments. The targeting of religious buildings and civilian areas has created an atmosphere of fear and uncertainty among local populations, forcing many to flee their homes and seek refuge in safer locations. The military council’s use of airstrikes against civilian infrastructure, including religious buildings, has been documented as a recurring strategy in their operations against areas they consider resistant to their control. These incidents have contributed to the ongoing displacement of civilian populations and the destruction of community infrastructure in various parts of Myanmar.
