
In Paypinshay village, Pyawbwe Township, Mandalay Region, a 19-year-old youth was killed in a drone strike conducted by the military council forces. The incident occurred on April 28 in the afternoon when Maung Chit Zaw Latt was chopping firewood at his home when a bomb dropped by a military drone exploded, killing him instantly. His father, U Tin Maung, was also injured in the attack. According to local residents, the bomb exploded approximately four feet in front of Maung Chit Zaw Latt, while U Tin Maung sustained a vascular injury to his wrist from bomb fragments while drinking tea. After receiving medical treatment, he is now reported to be out of danger.
Additionally, in Taungkamout village, Thaungtha Township, clashes erupted between military council forces and People’s Defense Force (PDF) units, leading to aerial bombardment by the military council. On April 28 at 7 AM, military council forces advanced toward Taungkamout village with significant numbers, resulting in an engagement with PDF forces. After suffering casualties in the battle, the military council called in air support and conducted bombing raids on the village. The airstrikes caused numerous houses in Taungkamout village to burn down and sustain damage.
According to local sources, the nearby villages of Htauksha and Tatar also endured continuous aerial attacks by the military council forces from the evening of April 28 into the following day. The military council has been deliberately targeting areas even without active conflict, causing destruction to civilian lives and property. These attacks have caused widespread fear among local residents, with many forced to flee to safer locations. The military council’s actions continue to demonstrate a pattern of indiscriminate attacks on civilian areas, resulting in loss of life, displacement, and destruction of civilian infrastructure.
