Multiple villages in Kyaukphyu Township, Rakhine State, have suffered extensive damage due to continuous aerial bombardment by the military council forces. On March 7 at approximately 2:00 PM, the military council conducted an airstrike using a fighter jet on Kwattin village in the Thitpoke Taung area, resulting in the destruction of at least 35 houses by fire. According to local residents, previous airstrikes had already targeted Ugyin village, and now Kwattin village has also come under attack. The continuous aerial assaults have left a trail of destruction across the region.
On March 6, Ugyin village endured two separate airstrikes by military council fighter jets, one at noon and another in the evening, leading to the destruction of more than 170 houses. Local sources report that there were no civilian casualties as residents had already evacuated the area more than ten days ago due to ongoing conflicts. However, due to disrupted communication lines, detailed information about the current situation remains limited. The military council’s targeting of civilian areas has resulted in widespread destruction of homes and displacement of local communities.
Additionally, on March 6, the military council forces conducted drone strikes on Wa village in Sittwe Township, destroying 35 houses. Currently, fighting continues between the military council forces and the Arakan Army (AA) in both Sittwe and Kyaukphyu townships. The military council has been deliberately targeting civilian homes with airstrikes, resulting in the destruction of more than 200 houses in Ugyin and Kwattin villages of Kyaukphyu Township. These attacks demonstrate a pattern of deliberate targeting of civilian infrastructure by the military council, causing significant damage to local communities and forcing residents to flee their homes for safety.
