Villages in Kyaukphyu Township, Rakhine State, are experiencing widespread destruction as the military council continues to conduct aerial bombardments. On March 7 at approximately 2 PM, the military council launched an air strike using a fighter jet on Kwattin village in the Thitpoke Taung area, resulting in the destruction of at least 35 houses by fire. While local residents had managed to evacuate to safer locations before the attack, the exact extent of casualties remains unclear due to disrupted communication systems in the area.
Additionally, on March 6, during both noon and evening hours, the military council conducted two separate aerial attacks on Oo Kyin village using fighter jets, which led to the destruction of more than 170 houses. Fortunately, civilian casualties were avoided as local residents had already evacuated the area approximately 10 days prior due to ongoing conflicts. The combined aerial attacks by the military council have resulted in the destruction of more than 200 houses total in both Oo Kyin and Kwattin villages within Kyaukphyu Township.
Similarly, on March 6, the military council carried out a drone attack on Wa village in Sittwe Township, resulting in the destruction of 35 houses by fire. Currently, fighting continues between the military council forces and the Arakan Army (AA) in both Sittwe and Kyaukphyu townships. The military council has been deliberately targeting civilian homes with continued aerial attacks, demonstrating a pattern of intentional strikes against residential areas. These attacks represent an ongoing campaign of destruction against civilian infrastructure in the region, as the military council continues to escalate its offensive operations against both military and civilian targets.
