The military council conducted an aerial bombardment on Kywettin village in Kyaukphyu Township, Rakhine State, on March 7 afternoon, resulting in the destruction of more than 35 houses by fire. The attack was carried out using a fighter jet targeting Kywettin village in the Thitpok Taung area. Local residents had evacuated the area before the attack, preventing any civilian casualties. The military forces deliberately targeted civilian homes in this aerial assault.
Additionally, on March 6, the military council launched two separate aerial attacks on U Kyin village in Kyaukphyu Township during both daytime and evening hours, burning down more than 170 houses. Local sources confirmed that residents had already fled the area more than a week prior due to ongoing conflicts, thus avoiding any casualties. The combined attacks on Kywettin and U Kyin villages in Kyaukphyu Township have resulted in the destruction of over 200 residential buildings. These systematic attacks demonstrate the military council’s continued targeting of civilian infrastructure.
Simultaneously, on March 6, the military council conducted drone strikes on Wa village in Sittwe Township, destroying 35 houses in the attack. Currently, fighting continues between the military council forces and the Arakan Army (AA) in both Sittwe and Kyaukphyu Townships. The military council has been deliberately targeting civilian residential areas in their aerial bombing campaigns, forcing local residents to abandon their homes and properties to seek safety in other locations. These attacks represent a pattern of the military council’s actions against civilian populations, causing widespread displacement and destruction of civilian property in Rakhine State.
