On March 3rd, in Win Ka Phaw village of Yebyu Township, Tanintharyi Region, the military council conducted an aerial bombardment without any ongoing conflict, resulting in injuries to four civilians including a 10-year-old child. According to local residents and officials from the Dawn Comrade Force, the bombing occurred at approximately 3:35 PM, with bombs striking between civilian homes in the village. The attack was unprovoked and targeted residential areas where civilians were going about their daily lives.
Among the injured were 10-year-old Maung Zwe Aung Htet, 60-year-old Daw Hin Kyu, 50-year-old U Zaw Win, and 37-year-old Oo Oo (also known as Ko Thaung Htet Aung). Of these victims, U Zaw Win and Ko Thaung Htet Aung sustained severe injuries and are currently receiving emergency medical treatment from healthcare organizations. The child and Daw Hin Kyu’s conditions are reported to be non-life-threatening, according to medical staff providing treatment. Healthcare teams are continuing to monitor the conditions of all victims, particularly the two severely injured individuals who require ongoing medical attention.
Kyauk Gyi, the Information Officer of the Dawn Comrade Force, stated that such aerial attacks are typical of the military’s hostile actions against civilians, emphasizing that they frequently target civilian areas even in the absence of any military engagement. He further explained that this incident demonstrates the military council’s pattern of treating civilians as enemies, conducting indiscriminate attacks on residential areas without regard for civilian casualties. The healthcare teams are maintaining close observation of the injured victims’ conditions and providing necessary medical treatment, while local resistance forces continue to document and report these violations against civilian populations.
