
According to local residents, military council forces conducted an aerial bombardment on Kantaung, Zoakchaung, and Htaukkyatpin villages in Sintguu Township, Mandalay Region, resulting in one civilian death and one injury. The incident occurred on March 24 at 8:45 PM, with the military council launching an unprovoked attack as there were no ongoing battles in the area.
The military council forces conducted four separate bombing runs, dropping more than twenty bombs. The attack resulted in the death of one male civilian and injured a young girl in Htaukkyatpin village. Additionally, four cattle were wounded, and numerous residential homes sustained damage. Local sources confirmed that approximately five unexploded bombs remain in the area, while some bombs have yet to be located.
The three targeted villages are situated adjacent to each other in a gold-producing region. Zoakchaung village contains over 200 households, Kantaung village has approximately 1,300 households, and Htaukkyatpin village consists of around 300 households. The bombing impacted the area near the Nodia Htoo Company compound in Kantaung village, while bombs fell directly within the residential areas of Zoakchaung and Htaukkyatpin villages.
