
The terrorist military forces conducted an aerial bombing attack on a monastery in Thanaungkyin village, Malun Township, Mandalay Region, resulting in damage to the monastery building and nearby houses. According to a representative from the Malun Public Information Network, the attack occurred around 10:20 PM on July 14, when a fighter jet from the Meiktila Air Force Base dropped three bombs on the monastery in the northern part of Malun Township. The aerial assault caused destruction to the monastery building located in the center of the village and six residential houses, while also killing three cattle owned by local residents.
The representative from the Malun Public Information Network confirmed that the military’s attack targeted civilians without any ongoing battles in the area. Despite the three bombs being dropped, fortunately, no civilians were injured in the attack. The representative urged local residents to properly construct bomb shelters to protect themselves from potential future aerial attacks. The incident highlights the military’s continued targeting of civilian infrastructure and religious buildings, causing significant damage to community properties and livestock.
Simultaneously, in Sagaing Region’s Kani Township, military council vessels traveling along the Chindwin River have been conducting indiscriminate shooting at villages along the riverbanks. Local residents from villages located at the border of Kani and Mingin townships have been forced to flee their homes due to the military council’s attacks. According to local sources, the increased military operations in the region have created serious security concerns for civilian populations. The military council’s vessels continue to pose a threat to riverside communities, forcing villagers to abandon their homes and seek safety elsewhere, demonstrating the ongoing pattern of civilian targeting by military forces in the region.
