The military council forces conducted aerial bombardment in the Kyauk Htu area of Saw Township, Gangaw District, Magway Region, as confirmed by local sources. On May 9, a Y12 aircraft from the military council’s Tatmadaw Air Base conducted an aerial attack, dropping no less than 12 bombs between 6:20 AM and 6:30 AM. Ko Bo Kaung from Yaw Alinn Tan organization provided detailed information about the incident to local media.
The military council has been conducting daily aerial attacks, requiring civilians to exercise extreme caution. They have been targeting civilian villages even in areas where there are no active conflicts or military operations. As a result, revolutionary organizations have advised the public to follow air raid defense procedures and construct bomb shelters at every household. These attacks demonstrate the military council’s continued aggression against civilian populations despite their claims of seeking peace.
Although the military council announced a temporary ceasefire from May 6 to May 31, they have continued to conduct military operations nationwide, including troop deployments, aerial bombings, artillery strikes, and drone attacks. These actions, which contradict their own ceasefire declaration, have heightened concerns for the safety and security of local residents. The ongoing attacks on civilian areas, particularly in regions without active conflict, highlight the military council’s disregard for civilian safety and their stated commitments to temporary cessation of hostilities.
