The military council forces conducted unprovoked aerial attacks using helicopters on Khalin Seik village, located on the eastern bank of the Sittaung River in Yedashe Township, Bago Region, according to local sources. On August 11, 2023, at approximately 1:30 PM, two military helicopters from Myothit Air Base arrived in the area and carried out at least five bombing raids on the outskirts of Khalin Seik village, despite there being no active conflict in the area.
Local residents confirmed that there were no civilian casualties or damage to residential buildings during the attacks. Revolutionary forces responded to the aerial assault using G3 weapons, targeting the helicopters as they descended for bombing runs, though no hits were recorded. Local residents believe this attack represents a deliberate targeting of civilian areas by military council forces, continuing their pattern of aggression against non-military targets.
Previously in June, the same village had been subjected to drone attacks by military council forces, and the nearby village of Peinnet Pin was completely burned down. According to documented records, these attacks on civilian areas without any military conflict have caused significant concern among local residents, who now live in constant fear for their daily security. The pattern of deliberate attacks on civilian areas without military justification has created an atmosphere of ongoing anxiety and uncertainty in the region.
