The terrorist military conducted an aerial bombing attack on a school in Hlezekun village, Thaung Tha Township, Mandalay Region, at approximately 3:30 AM on March 27. The attack involved dropping nine bombs from military aircraft despite there being no active fighting in the area. According to a representative from the Thaung Tha Township Public Movement Committee, the bombardment resulted in the destruction of four civilian homes and two school buildings.
While there were no civilian casualties from the attack, two cattle were injured. Local sources report that the military council deliberately targets non-military locations as part of their psychological warfare against civilians, constituting serious human rights violations. The military’s aerial attacks specifically targeting educational facilities and civilian residences represent clear violations of international law, according to local residents. The attack appears to be part of a broader pattern of the military council’s strategy to terrorize civilian populations through indiscriminate aerial bombardment of non-military targets, particularly focusing on educational institutions and civilian infrastructure.
