The People’s Defense Comrade information officer Htoo Khant Zaw (Amay Thar) from Ye-U has confirmed that the terrorist military conducted an aerial bombing attack on a village monastery in the western part of Kanbalu Township, Sagaing Region. The attack occurred around 11:10 AM on June 7, when a fighter jet that took off from Tataoo launched an airstrike on the monastery.
The aerial attack resulted in significant damage to the monastery’s brick walls and destroyed a pagoda. However, the extent of civilian casualties, if any, has not yet been confirmed. Currently, the military council has been frequently conducting airstrikes targeting monasteries and schools where children study in various townships within Sagaing Region, including Pale, Salingyi, Wetlet, Depayin, and Kanbalu townships.
In light of these developments, the People’s Defense Comrade based in Ye-U has issued warnings to both resistance fighters and local civilians to remain vigilant about the threat of air attacks and take necessary security precautions. The terrorist military council has been deliberately targeting civilian areas, religious buildings, and educational institutions, making it crucial for local residents to exercise extreme caution for their safety. The systematic targeting of civilian infrastructure by the military council demonstrates their continued aggression against innocent civilians, requiring communities to maintain heightened awareness of potential aerial threats.
