“A spokesperson from Battalion 6 of the Yinmabin District Military Region 1 has confirmed that two Military Council soldiers were killed in an attack while they were going to tap palm trees in Pale Township, Sagaing Region. The incident occurred around 7:20 AM on February 19, when six Military Council soldiers from Ziphyukone Pyusawthi village in Pale Township were ambushed by revolutionary forces from Company 2 of Battalion 6, Yinmabin District while heading out to tap palm trees. Although the engagement lasted only a few minutes, it resulted in two Military Council soldiers being killed and two others wounded. Regarding the incident, an official from Battalion 6 explained, ‘The clash occurred when revolutionary forces on patrol encountered enemy soldiers between Ziphyukone Pyusawthi village and Nyawyo village.’ Although Military Council reinforcements numbering around 60 troops arrived after the battle, the revolutionary forces were able to withdraw without casualties. Additionally, revolutionary forces conducted drone attacks against Military Council troops along the Bilin-Papun road in Mon State. On February 20, the Drone Battalion of Military Strategy 27, Southern Military Sub-Region 2, attacked Military Council troops near Pyintha Bridge using three 60mm bombs. Another drone attack occurred near Maramchaung on February 23, resulting in injuries to three Military Council soldiers. In all these attacks, revolutionary forces reported no casualties. The continuous occurrence of such battles indicates the Military Council’s weakening control over these regions. It’s notable that revolutionary forces are now capable of conducting operations using modern technology and tactics.
