
The People’s Defense Force has confirmed that four military council troops were killed in an attack on a column of approximately 100 soldiers who were using civilians as human shields in Pyapon Township, Bago Region. Shadow, the intelligence and information officer from PDF Battalion 3601, verified this information.
The confrontation occurred between 10:50 AM and 2:15 PM on June 16, near Nwa Toe village and Nwei Taung village in Oak Put village tract, Pyapon Township. The military council forces, who were using civilians from Yoke Sai village as human shields, suffered four fatalities and three injuries in the attack. Following the engagement, the military council forces placed their dead soldiers’ bodies inside houses in Nwa Toe and Nwei Taung villages, then set the buildings on fire before retreating toward Pauk Khaung town.
Simultaneously, in Sagaing Region, the BRAVE HEART ARMY-BHA forces attacked military council troops traveling in a civilian vehicle near Taw Pu village on the Monywa-Mandalay road. This attack resulted in three casualties, including a captain, and the destruction of their vehicle. In a separate incident at 11:27 PM on June 16, resistance forces intercepted and attacked military personnel who had departed from the General Administration Office in Chaung U town near Taw Pu Pyu Saw Htee village. This engagement resulted in three casualties, including a major, while one soldier was injured and another escaped.
During these operations, resistance forces seized multiple weapons including MA1, Paris, MA5, 9mm, and Sig Batter type firearms – specifically two long guns and three short guns – along with three mobile phones. The civilian vehicle used by the military council troops was also destroyed. The BRAVE HEART ARMY-BHA reported that their forces successfully withdrew from the operation without any casualties. They have appealed to the public for ammunition support to continue their operations against military council forces, emphasizing the ongoing need for resources to maintain their resistance efforts.
